Blenheim vineyard, NZ

Vineyard in Blenheim. We did manage to squeeze a few winery tours in while we were down there. Shame Katy was the nominated driver as she was also breastfeeding!

Shells on Akaroa beach

Light was fading quickly when we took this in Akaroa. It was also very windy and quite cold (very compared to Singapore), probably in the mid-teens! Wearing a jumper and socks is not something we have become accustomed too!

Akaroa

Just love the colours. Only thing it's missing is a bird on top, or distances on the signs. Alternatively, maybe I am a little picky (No comments please, i know what you're thinking, just keep it to yourself!!!)

Lake Matheson, NZ

For this one we set the alarm for 5am so we could trek in the dark by torchlight, through the woods, with a 10 week old strapped to our chest all to catch the sunrise over Mount Cook and get some awesome reflections in Lake Matheson. A little experience within a trip that we will remember for a very long time. The view didn't disappoint and neither did the full english fry-up we had after (although Katy went all posh and had eggs benedict!).

Sunrise walk

This was the walk after our sunrise trip. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it's as good as we're gonna get.

Lake Manapouri, NZ

To get to our overnight cruise (see below) we needed to take a 1 hr boat trip to a hydro-dam power plant and then catch a coach for 45 minutes. This was the trip across Lake Manapouri. Worthwhile as an excursion on its own, but with the cruise, outstanding. Weather was good to us yet again!

Doubtful Sound

Overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound, experienced with about 80 other people. Words can't really describe its serenity and splendour, especially when you see seals and dolphins in their natural environment (we'll forget about the sand flies). Shame Toby is not going to remember any of this.

Queenstown, NZ

In the distance, not that you can make it out, is Queenstown. The drive to get there is stunning and the views from the flight out are awesome.

Lake Ohau, NZ

This was our penultimate night, at Lake Ohau in the centre of the south island. What you can't see in the shot is my wet feet. I misjudged the waterline and the distance the waves could come (I swear the water was almost freezing). You live and learn!
